Wellness Weekend with Jim Keegan


We are so happy to be hosting Jim Keegan for a weekend of wellness!

Jim has a B.S. Kinesiology and Biomechanics, and served as Head Yoga Teacher at Arizona State University (ASU) for nine years. Jim is the founder of Yoga Nirvana Studio based in Arizona, and has been teaching yoga in the East Valley since 2001. In addition to teaching at Yoga Nirvana Studio, he teaches internationally, in workshops and at yoga retreats.

Art of Vinyasa: This class will take students through a flow class and at times pause and break down postures to ensure proper alignment. Biomechanics and some anatomy will be explored. This workshop class could be for a beginning students or advanced teachers.

Ashtanga Improv: First, second and sometimes third series postures from the Ashtanga systematized series will be incorporated. This class will build strength and flexibility and is athletic in nature. Helping to tone the organs and glands and muscles for an over all fit and vital body.

Psycho-somatic discussion: : Learn about the mind body connection as seen by clinical science and Yogis. Participants will learn skills to be able to listen to their bodies and minds from a place of unconditional love and acceptance through the eyes of the silent witness.

Restorative: Using props and gravity you will journey deep inside to discover any stored patterns of tension and begin to dissolve them. This type pf practice is used by Jim for professional/ collegiate athletes and also for trauma and PTSD clients. It will help to repair soft tissue and rejuvenate synovial fluid creating healthy joint functions.
